Nerve

A peripheral nerve is a bundle of nerve axons extending from the central nervous system (brain or spinal cord) out into the tissues of the body. The nerve fibres may be myelinated or unmyelinated, and enclosed in a thin sheath of connective tissue. There are 12 sets of cranial nerves and 32 pairs of spinal nerves.

Nuclear Pore

The double membrane around the nucleus is perforated by numerous pores which regulate the movement of large molecules into and out of the nucleus. The pores are rimmed by 8 protein complexes.

Nucleolus

This is a region in the nucleus where ribosomal RNA is assembled. The RNA is then complexed with proteins and exported to the cytoplasm where it forms ribosomes.
