QRS Complex

Part of the tracing obtained during a single heartbeat when monitored by an ECG (electrocardiogram) machine. It represents the electrical changes that occur when the ventricles depolarise.


Quadriceps

The large four part muscle in the front of the thigh. Its main function is to extend the lower limb at the knee, but it also flexes at the hip.


Quadriplegia

Paralysis of all four limbs, commonly due to severing of the spinal cord at a high level.
